Appointment – Area Commissioner for Elgin

It's my pleasure to announce that, effective immediately, Tim Dierickse has been appointed as the new Area Commissioner for Elgin Area.

For the past two years, Tim has been a leader with the 1st West Lorne group, working in troop and most recently company. His son is currently part of the company.

Tim comes from a lengthy Scouting background in what are now the Elgin and Chatham-Kent Areas. His father Frank was a leader with the Highgate Troop while his mother was a leader with the Pack. His father was also a member of the Camp Cataraqui camp committee during its early years and construction. Later in the 70s, when the family moved to Dutton, they started a new troop there and worked closely with the Wallacetwon Pack.

Professionally, Tim is self employed as a concept designer of environmental and communications projects with the Timmy D Group. He is also a school bus driver for Badder Bus Lines.

Please join me in welcoming Tim to his new role. He will be starting to form a new Service Team for Elgin Area immediately so please help out where he asks.

At the same time, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Bob Ebbinghaus and all of the Area team for their efforts over the last three and a half years. It's been a time of steady change and they need to be commended for their hard work in providing direction for the Area.

At your service,
Bernie Avery
