Area Youth Commissioner - Chatham-Kent Area

Are you passionate about Scouting, and looking to take on a leadership role? The Council Youth Commissioner is seeking applications for the Area Youth Commissioner (AYC) of Chatham-Kent Area in Tri-Shores Council. The AYC’s role is to ensure youth are being provided with leadership roles within their Section through Kim, Keeo, Sixer/Seconder Council, Courts of Honour, Company/ Crew Executives, and the Area Youth Network. They ensure that youth concerns are being properly communicated to the Area Service Team. As the AYC you will have the opportunity to take on new challenges and initiatives on the Area and Council levels. You will have the chance to meet new people in and out of Scouting and most importantly, you can be the voice that helps to grow and promote our movement!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be a recognized point of contact for leaders and youth in the Chatham-Kent Area.
  • Promote meaningful youth involvement within the Area.
  • Promote youth leadership development within the sections by visiting the sections and encouraging proper use of Sixer/Seconder Councils, Courts of Honour, and Venturer Executives.
  • Ensure youth initiatives are supported and recognized in conjunction with the Council Youth Commissioner.
  • Attend Area Service Team and Council Service Team meeting.
  • Serve as chair of the Area Youth Network.
